Interesting Places To Visit While You're Here.
Alice04s

We've included quite a comprehensive section about Alice in Wonderland including information about Alice Liddell, the girl that inspired the story, and inspired Lewis Carroll, the author.
This is Alice in the photograph on the left. Click on the picture to meet Alice and learn the story behind the story.

For lovers of fine coffee, we've added a brief story about where our coffee is grown, how it is prepared and why our coffee tastes better than the coffee you're served in other places.

Harold_spare

Harold Lloyd, one of Hollywood's lesser known heros is the inspiration behind our giant 3 metre wide, one-tonne clock at the Jam Factory in South Yarra. Learn more about Harold's life and times by clicking on the picture on the left.

The more we find out about Harold, the more we love him. At one time Harold had sixty ( that's 60) dogs... mostly Great Danes and St Bernards. We have photos of Harold on the screen and at home, we have Quicktime Movies of Harold in action (these may be slow to download... depending on your system and modem), and we have a series of Harold Lloyd posters from the 1920s in colour.

Our resident artist and inventor, Peter Von Czarnecki is always at work dreaming up new ideas and inventions to be built into our restaurants. See some of the plans that are still on the drawingboard.

One hunded years ago, on a train in India, a Scottish lady called Helen Bannerman wrote and illustrated this little book about a little boy. We're taking Little Black Sambo out of storage to celebrate 100th year of entertaining children.

HereŽs a special offer for people living in Canberra.
Click on the underlined text... or the kookaburra.

Whoever said "If it's written in the paper then it must be true" has obviously never been to Canberra and read about the adventures of Lola Montez, spider-dancer, libertine and mistress of Kings.
We reveal the facts.

Shrove8_s

Find out all about Shrove Tuesday... Pancake Day all over the world and especially here in Melbourne where, each year, we host our own Pancake Race through the streets of the city.
(IŽd put my money on the very determined lady on the left).

And while weŽre on the subject of the streets of Melbourne take a look at what they looked like not so very long ago.

Click on the postcard.
