As our restaurants grew in size and as we ventured into larger spaces (The ceiling at Northland is nearly 20 metres high) we've also increased the size and grandeur of  our contraptions and constructions... and we've taken to the skies in a big way. "Granny" at Forest Hill Chase in 1990 was our first pilot. Now we have a huge fleet of unlikely and improbable flying machines at Northland that comes to life at pre-determined times. The Lovely Lady Hot-Air Balloons. In 1978 we went to Sydney and opened "Pancakes On The Rocks". Our Hot Air Balloon broke its tether and shot over Sydney Harbour Bridge (to the amazement of the 6 o'clock News). It finally came to rest in the Hawkesbury River and the "Rocks" was launched.
