The Pancake Parlour is a company whose stockholders are equally as passionate about fun, innovation and service. The director, Simon Meadmore, is the son of the original co-founders and now oversees the 11 Melbourne restaurants and the senior management team who have become part of the family. The general manager, Gerhard Wittwer, has worked with the company for over 30 years maintaining a ‘hands on’ role and looking after the team of area managers and restaurant managers led by Serge Meiers, Clarke Laidlaw (who has been with the company for 42 years), Nicki Smith, Mandy David, Anna Read and Sue Bett. Each restaurant has a restaurant manager and several assistant managers. Our staff come from all backgrounds and we currently have over 500 staff members. Records show that staff remain with the company for an average of three years which is a remarkably low turn over for the hospitality industry. Many staff members initially started their job position intending to simply fund their study, however decided to pursue a career path with the company instead. The skills gained from working at The Pancake Parlour are transferable to any environment and ex-staff have gone onto other professions, began their own businesses, raised families and now some even visit with their grandchildren. The head office team of seven people is headed by Ray Paull. Located on the 11th Floor, 180 Russell St in Melbourne, the office is the central administration point for the group and serves all 11 Pancake Parlour Restaurants.
