OUR HAPPY FAMILY
The Pancake Parlour is an Australian-owned family business and very proud of it. People often imagine that we are part of a large American chain of restaurants. This is not so.
The Pancake Parlour is a company whose family stockholders are passionate about fun, innovation and service.
We still feel ‘wild and crazy’ about the Pancake Game and we are filled with enthusiasm about the future as we continue to make the humble pancake awesome.
THE TEAM
CEO Simon Meadmore is the son of the original co-founders, and now oversees the 11 Melbourne restaurants and the senior management team, who have become part of the family.
General Manager Gerhard Wittwer has worked with the company for more than 30 years, and loves to see things grow. He looks after the team of area managers and restaurant managers, led by Serge Meiers, Nicki Smith, Mandy David, Melissa Selemba, Sally Midon and Adriana Pekic.
COME JOIN US IN THE PANCAKE GAME
Our staff come from all backgrounds and we currently have more than 500 staff members working in our 11 Melbourne-based restaurants. Records show that staff remain with the company for an average of three years, which is a remarkably low turnover for the hospitality industry.
Many staff members initially start their job position intending to simply fund their study, but then decide to pursue a career path with the company instead.
The skills gained from working at The Pancake Parlour are transferable to any environment, and former staff have gone on to other professions, beginning their own businesses, raising families and now even visiting with their grandchildren!
NOT EVERYTHING HAPPENS IN A RESTAURANT
Darren Cotton leads our Head Office team of eight bright and cheery people. Located at 152 Little Lonsdale Street Melbourne, the office is the central administration point for the group and serves all 11 Pancake Parlour restaurants.
OUR THANKS
The Pancake Parlour has been supported along the way by many kind and wonderful people. They have worked with us, eaten with us and even chided us when we got off track. They have all helped The Pancake Parlour become a Melbourne institution!
